Research access expanded
Fujitsu has announced a new international challenge centered on its quantum computing simulator, offering cash prizes and extended platform access to participating teams. The initiative is aimed at accelerating applied research using quantum-inspired methods.
Participants will use Fujitsu’s quantum simulator to address optimization and computational problems drawn from real-world scenarios. The program is open to academic researchers, startups, and enterprise teams.
The company said the challenge is designed to encourage experimentation with quantum algorithms ahead of wider availability of fault-tolerant quantum hardware. Fujitsu operates one of the largest commercially available quantum simulators.
Selected teams will receive technical support and access to proprietary tools throughout the program period, which runs into the next financial year.
Quantum simulation is increasingly viewed as a bridge between classical computing and future quantum systems, allowing developers to prepare software and workflows in advance.
The initiative reflects rising competition among technology firms to position themselves in early quantum ecosystems.
