Embedded security expansion
Exein, an embedded cybersecurity company based in Europe, has raised €100 million in a new funding round aimed at expanding its device-level security platform. The company focuses on protecting connected systems at the firmware and operating-system layer.
Exein’s software is designed to run directly on devices such as industrial controllers, vehicles, medical equipment, and consumer electronics. The approach targets vulnerabilities that exist below the application layer, where traditional security tools have limited visibility.
The company says its technology is already deployed on more than a billion devices globally through partnerships with hardware manufacturers and chip vendors. The funding will be used to scale deployment and expand research and development.
Investor interest reflects growing concern about security risks in connected and embedded systems, particularly as industrial and consumer devices become increasingly networked. Regulators have also begun introducing baseline security requirements for connected products.
Exein plans to expand its presence in international markets and deepen integration with semiconductor platforms. The company has not disclosed valuation details.
The funding highlights continued capital inflows into cybersecurity infrastructure focused on prevention at the device level.
